About Cait

For as long as she can remember, Cait’s felt an intrinsic need to tell stories — to be creative and use her imagination. She’s a dreamer who gazes at the sky, constantly wondering what else is out there. She likes to think BIG. Cait quit her corporate job in 2023 to focus on her filmmaking career because being a filmmaker is what she was born to do. She has spent the better portion of her life honing creative skills that will help her achieve her goals; she holds a BA in English from the University of Texas and a minor in Philosophy, she was an event photographer for many years, and she is currently very active — both in front of and behind the camera — with local filmmaking groups in Austin, Texas. Her overall goal is to become a household name by the end of her career.

Recent Projects

She is currently working on getting her debut short film, Acclimation, off the ground. It is an intimate sci-fi thriller drama about what happens when you see something so vast, so profound, that Earth can never feel the same again. It follows Sally Kelly, a veteran astronaut who once led a disastrous rescue mission. Haunted by guilt and unable to reconnect with her family, she throws herself back into space exploration. Years later, she returns to the same hostile planet where she lost her mentor and his crew.

Shot as a hybrid of interviews, memory, and survival sequences, Acclimation explores themes of guilt, purpose, and the impossibility of truly coming home after seeing the infinite.

At its heart, it’s not about aliens or spaceships — it’s about a woman searching for redemption in the one place she fears - and loves - most: the stars. Think Interstellar meets Annihilation on a micro-budget scale.
