About Mercedes

Mercedes Garcia is a writer and director whose work focuses on grounded slice-of-life dramas shaped by resilience, childhood, and complicated family dynamics. Her filmmaking centers subtle emotional shifts and lived-in realism, drawing from her experiences as a Latina storyteller.

She is the co-founder of Stray Cats Productions, where she creates character-driven films and supports collaborative, inclusive sets. Her award-winning feature script Little Adults is currently gaining momentum on the festival circuit, recognized for its emotional depth and nuanced father–daughter story. Mercedes continues developing new film and TV projects that highlight the quiet strength in everyday lives.

Recent Projects

Little Adults follows a seven-year-old girl navigating the instability of life with her troubled father, told through grounded visuals and quiet emotional detail. The script has earned multiple finalist and winner placements across national and international festivals. Currently in the script development stage, the project is seeking producing partners and financing to move toward production through Stray Cats Productions.
