Wild & Scenic Film Festival 2026 – Submissions Now Open

Hosted by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL), the Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a leading U.S.-based event for documentaries and narrative shorts that explore environmental issues, community activism, climate justice, and intentional adventure. The 2026 edition will center on the theme “Mobilize”, highlighting films that inspire real-world action.
All official selections are considered for the WSFF On Tour program, which travels to over 100 venues across the U.S. and provides extended exposure for selected filmmakers.

Viennale 2025 – Submissions Close July 31

Austria’s largest film festival, Viennale, is a non-competitive, highly curated international film event known for its cinematic range and artistic rigor. While most films are selected by invitation, the festival accepts submissions across all genres and formats for consideration in its main program—provided they have not screened in Austria.
Held in Vienna, the 2025 edition will take place October 16–28, with screenings in 70mm, 35mm, 16mm, Super 8, and DCP.
Key Details:
· Final Submission Deadline: July 31, 2025
· Eligibility: Films completed or premiered after October 1, 2024
· Selection Notice: Successful applicants will be contacted (by September 12)
Why Submit: While highly selective, accepted films gain visibility in one of Europe’s most respected cultural festivals.

The Fondation AlterCiné offers annual production grants to support documentary filmmakers born and residing in the Global South (Africa, Asia, or Latin America). Selected projects must align with the Foundation’s goals of promoting human rights, freedom of expression, and social justice. Grants are awarded in two tiers: one $10,000 CAD and several $5,000 CAD grants.
